Playing it Safe
Most people often have valuables that they prefer to keep in their homes. However, the safety of these items needs to be ensured. So, if you are thinking of tackling a home improvement project, you can deal with this particular concern by installing a hidden wall safe. You are going to need the following things for this project: a safe, thumb tacks, a hammer, pencil, nails, safety goggles, screws, shims, a drywall saw, and an electric drill. Find a safe that is the size that you want, then you can start working.

Choose an empty wall in your house that does not contain any pipes or electrical wires. Pick a spot that is secure, such as a closet, and then check to see that the back of your safe will not stick out through the wall. Get the template that came along with the safe you purchased and hold this against the wall. Tack it onto the wall then trace around its edges with a pencil. Drive a nail right into the centre of the wall section that you would be removing. You can later use this as a knob for pull once you have done your cutting. Start cutting at the bottom and take care on how you hold the saw so that you will not end up cutting through the wall on the opposite side. Cut the sides and the top then pull the drywall out with the nail you drove into it earlier. Slide the safe into the wall and check that it is positioned snugly. If it happens to be a bit loose, then get some shims and tighten it. Nail these shims to the studs so that they will stay secure. Install your safe by by drilling holes into the wall studs from within the safe then fasten it securely to the wall with the screws.
If it all seems like too much work for you, especially if you lack carpentry skills, you can get a professional to do the job. With your own wall safe, you can conceal your valuables such as jewellery and important papers in your home where you can keep an eye on things.
